Open WebUI is the most polished self-hosted chat interface — multi-user, RBAC, RAG out of the box, plugins, image generation, and a clean UX. Defaults to talking to a local Ollama; also speaks any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, so you can put it in front of vLLM, OpenRouter, or anything else.
