ownmetal indexes self-hosted AI tools — chat UIs, LLM runners, RAG platforms, vector databases, agent builders and more. For each tool we list the actual hardware it needs and the cheapest VPS tier that can run it.

Most "self-hosted alternatives" lists tell you what the software is. They don't tell you what it needs. We answer "can I run this on a €4 Hetzner box?" so you can decide before you spin up a server.

Some outbound links to hosting providers are affiliate links. If you sign up through one, the provider gives us a referral fee at no extra cost to you. We never gate tool data behind affiliates and never recommend a tier you don't need.
